New Delhi Fm – Row By

A deep bass pulse meanders reliably through all the tracks on “Row By” by New Delhi Fm. It seems to guide us the way: through the deep sinister valleys of echo and filter streaks, from whose embrace there is no escape. Large-scale tracks unfold over a compact rhythm construct, whose persistence and silence (!) are sometimes reminiscent of British tech dub of the nineties or Hallucinator by Basic Channel.

A clever monotony lends this album an undertow devoid of any dramaturgy; drawing the listener into the kind of equanimity you sometimes feel when you let your gaze rest on the treetops being played on by the wind.
